A Level company - serving Denver, CO

Famco Chimney Liner & Rebuild Nationwide

Every visit starts with

Level 1 sweep and inspection to the NFPA 211 annual standard - flue, crown, cap, and flashing checked and photographed

Worth knowing

Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.

Famco Chimney Liner & Rebuild in Denver: What to Know First

We provide independent Famco chimney liner and rebuild service across Denver, typically quoting the job within 24 hours of your call and completing most liner replacements inside of two business days. Every Famco job starts with a camera-scan inspection, a written price you approve before any work begins, and a documented photo record when we’re done. If you own a Famco chimney component and need liner work or structural rebuild, call (720) 674-7312 for a free estimate. We are not affiliated with or authorized by Famco; we are an independent Famco service provider with no obligation to sell you parts you don’t need.

How Famco Products Fail - and How We Fix Them

  • Famco 304 stainless flex liners in the FSL series develop circumferential cracking at the flex points after 8-12 years in Denver’s freeze-thaw cycles. The 304 alloy is adequate for dry wood but marginal when condensation sits in the valleys between corrugations. We replace with 316Ti or 316L stainless, or source a DuraFlex equivalent with a tighter corrugation profile that drains better.
  • Famco rigid 316L liner systems (FRL line) suffer joint separation at the male-female slip connections when installed without proper expansion allowance. Denver’s 40-degree daily temperature swings in shoulder season accelerate this. We cut back to sound pipe, reinstall with proper expansion gaps, and back the joint with a stainless locking band rather than sealant alone.
  • Famco chimney caps in the FC series - particularly the galvanized models - rot from the inside out where creosote accumulates at the lid-to-screen joint. The cap looks intact from the ground while the mesh has separated from the frame. We document this with the camera from above, then replace with a Gelco or Copperfield stainless cap sized to the flue, not the chase top.
  • Famco smoke chamber products used in some 1990s Denver tract builds delaminate where parging compound was troweled over a hot surface. The result is a rough, turbulent chamber that deposits creosote and restricts draft. We parge smooth with Chamber-Tech 2000 or remove and reline the chamber depending on access.
  • Famco chase covers in aluminum pit at the drip edge within 5-7 years on south-facing exposures in Denver’s high-UV environment. Water tracks under the cover and rots the framing below. We replace with a Gelco or Olympia Chimney stainless chase cover with cross-break and proper drip edge, and we photograph the framing condition before the new cover goes on.

Our Famco Chimney Liner & Rebuild Process

Our Famco Chimney Liner & Rebuild Process
  1. 1
Call and schedule. A live person answers, checks availability, and notes your Famco model if you have it. We don’t use voicemail or web-form callbacks.
  2. 2
NFPA 211 Level 2 inspection. Corrine or one of our techs runs the camera the full length of the flue, records the footage, and marks timestamps for any damage. The camera doesn’t guess. Neither do we.
  3. 3
Written scope and price. You get a line-item document: parts (OEM Famco or equivalent from DuraFlex, HeatShield, or Gelco), labor, permit if required, and warranty terms. No work starts until you sign.
  4. 4
Repair or rebuild. For liner jobs, we pull the old material, size the replacement to the appliance and chimney, and install per manufacturer spec. For rebuilds, we stage materials and work weather-tight, course by course, with photo documentation at each phase.
  5. 5
Post-work test and documentation. We run a smoke test or draft test, record the result, and add completion photos to your file. This is Clause 4 of the Haven Standard - a documented record on every job, running since 2009.
  6. 6
Cleanup and warranty registration. We haul away debris, sweep the work area, and leave you with a written warranty under our 365-Day Done Right Promise.

Why Denver Homeowners Call Level Two Chimney Denver for Famco Work

We’ve inspected and cleaned more than 38,000 chimneys since 2009, and a significant share of Denver’s housing stock from the 1980s through the early 2000s runs Famco components. Corrine Halstead trained on liner systems and combustion venting at Apex Technical School in Manhattan, and she brought the habit of documenting everything to Denver - from Capitol Hill condos to the brick Victorians along Federal Boulevard. Our techs are background-checked, uniformed, and assigned by name; you get a text when yours is on the way. Because we source materials through Haven’s buying network across DuraFlex, HeatShield, Gelco, Olympia Chimney, Famco, and Copperfield, we can match the right part to the job instead of selling you what we happen to stock. The 365-Day Done Right Promise means if it’s not right, we make it right. No exceptions.
